2006 Season   Our Past  About Us    Now Playing    Contact Us

Since being founded at Emerson College in 2000, BCKSEET Productions has grown from its college campus conception to boldly bound through Boston and New York City.

In 2003-2004 BCKSEET ventured to Guatemala City, Guatemala; producing a seven-show performance season (four of which were bi-lingual translations). While in Guatemala, Gregory DeCandia (BCKSEET's Founder and Producing Artistic Director) developed Colegio Interamericano’s K-12 theatre curriculum in accordance to the standards of both Guatemala and US diplomas. BCKSEET Productions also created the Company's first, as well as Guatemala’s First Fine Arts Scholarship. It is our pledge to continue on this path and bring what was started in Central America to our new home in Philadelphia.

Since BCKSEET’s US return in August 2004, the Company has presented David Mamet’s Sexual Perversity in Chicago in association with the Seacoast Repertory Theatre in Portsmouth, NH and the inaugural performance season in Philadelphia: Die Trying 2005, presenting Patrick Marber’s Closer, James McClure's PVT. Wars, Tony Kushner's Angels In America Part I: Millennium Approaches, and Richard Greenberg's The American Plan. The season was produced in it's entirety at the Society Hill Playhouse in her second stage space, The Red Room. In the summer of 2005 Angels In America was picked up for a second run at The Adrienne Theatre's Second Stage.

Towards the end of 2005 BCKSEET Productions first appeared in print as the official Resident Company of the historical Society Hill Playhouse, inhabiting its unique second stage, The Red Room. The company is continuing to strengthen its bond with this prestigious organization, and great city, with the mission "To produce ART with the talents of multidisciplinary artists who EDUCATE, ENTERTAIN and ENLIGHTEN society with the ideals of classical, contemporary, and original cutting edge works of ART."
